Curling
The Candle Lake Curling Club has 3 great sheets of artificial ice. We pride ourselves on our friendly, fun & outgoing club members and we welcome new members who wish to join us. Each season begins with our Annual Meeting in October and the registration process for our 1st session which is 8 weeks, November - December. This is followed by an open house and a learn to curl session.
Registration
You can register as a team, or as a single curler wanting to be on a team, or be added to the spare list. We have grown to have draws Monday - Thursday evening and have Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon draws for the first session.
The second session starts in early January for 12 weeks, to the end of March.
The Club hosts 3 bonspiels - our 1st Open Bonspiel in November, our Ladies Bonspiel in February and our Wind-Up Bonspiel in March.
On December 27th the Club hosts a Jingle Bell Rock. A great way to wear off Christmas turkey and bring the family out to curl. Four end games and lots of fun for all ages.
Doubles Nights are held about once a month on a Friday or Saturday night.

History
Curling started back in 2002 when the Club became a nonprofit organization, curling outdoors on marina ice. In 2004 we moved to our current location and built a new rink in 2005. In 2012 the Club decided to add artificial ice. Our ice makers work hard to make sure the ice is in as good a shape as we can make it. In 2024 the Club purchased new rocks. All Board of Directors and committee members are volunteer. The club supports the community all year round. You will see members hosting a BBQ at Welcome Back to the Lake, putting on a Ladies Night Out event, selling Curling for Cash tickets, and always fun and events at the rink.

The lobby & kitchen is available for rentals to club members.
